This is an Op-Ed piece from David Brooks of the NYT, a writer I don't always agree with, but always find entertaining to read. At one point he brings up the lottery as a shameful practice for government - this relates to the comments in the 'Can Money Buy Happiness' article I posted a few weeks ago...seems to be some common opinion on that topic.
